NT-510 Non-Contact Tonometer
Non-contact tonometry, aligned and measured automatically
The NT-510 is a straightforward non-contact tonometer built around automatic alignment and measurement, so the reading does not depend on how steady the technician's hand is that afternoon. The screen tilts, and there is a high-speed printer built in for practices that still want a paper record at the point of measurement.
What it does
- Automatic tracking, alignment and measurement
- Tilting 5.7-inch color LCD screen
- Built-in high-speed printer
- Designed around patient comfort as well as measurement accuracy
Is it right for your practice?
Best fit
Practices that want dedicated non-contact tonometry instead of a combination instrument, and any pre-test room with technicians of varying experience.
Why consider it
Auto tracking, alignment and measurement take the operator out of the IOP number. That is the whole argument, and it is a good one - tonometry is a screening measurement whose value depends on being comparable between visits and between technicians. The screen tilts, and there is a high-speed printer built in for practices that still want a paper record at the point of measurement.
What to compare
If you also need autorefraction and keratometry, the Tonoref II does all three in one footprint and one patient stop, and unless bench space or single-point-of-failure risk is your concern it is usually the better buy. The NT-510's case is standing alone so one failure does not take out your whole pre-test line. Separately, the iCare rebound tonometers I carry measure without an air puff at all - if patient tolerance of the puff is what is driving this purchase, look there first.
Ask me about
Whether the puff is a real problem in your chairs, and what the Tonoref II costs against the NT-510 plus a separate ARK.
