IC200 Rebound Tonometer
The iCare IC200 is the most versatile tonometer in iCare's portfolio, and the reason is positional freedom: 200 degrees of it, so intraocular pressure can be measured whether the patient is seated, reclined or fully supine. That matters most where the patient cannot come to the instrument: clinical, surgical and emergency settings. The Quick Measure mode takes two or three individual readings instead of the standard six, which shortens the test for patients who struggle to hold still for it. A high-visibility indicator at the probe base turns green when the tonometer is positioned for a reliable reading and red when it is not, and the alignment feedback guides the operator to hold the probe perpendicular to the cornea. Rebound measurement means no anesthetic drops, no puff of air and no calibration.
What it does
- 200 degrees of positional freedom: measure supine, reclined or seated
- Quick Measure captures IOP in two or three measurements instead of the standard six; iCare reports this reduces measurement time to about one-third of the default method
- Measurement range 7–50 mmHg, accurate to ±1.2 mmHg at or below 20 mmHg
- High-visibility indicator at the probe base: green for reliable positioning, red for incorrect
- Alignment feedback guides the probe perpendicular to the cornea
- Results displayed to one decimal place in mmHg
- 165 g without batteries (260 g with), on 4 × AA alkaline batteries
- No anesthetic drops, no air puff, no calibration
Is it right for your practice?
Best fit
Glaucoma, retina, hospital, ASC and comprehensive practices that routinely check IOP on reclined, supine, wheelchair or post-operative patients.
Why consider it
The IC200 measures across 200 degrees of positional freedom, so pressure can be taken with the patient seated, reclined or fully supine. Rebound measurement means no anesthetic drops, no air puff and no calibration. Quick Measure captures IOP in two or three measurements instead of the standard six; iCare reports that this reduces measurement time to about one-third of the default method. A high-visibility indicator at the probe base shows green when the tonometer is positioned for a reliable reading.
What to compare
If every patient you measure can sit upright at a slit lamp, the positional range is capability you will not use, and the IC100 does the same rebound measurement in a lighter handheld at a lower investment. The IC200's case is the patient who cannot come to the instrument. Count how often that happens in a month before deciding.
