Infinity Refraction Software
Refract from the next room, or from anywhere
Infinity is add-on software for Marco's automated refractors that lets you drive the refraction from a tablet or any web browser: six feet away in the room, from the room next door, or from another office entirely. Web cameras handle the audio and video between you and the patient. There are no subscription fees; you buy it once and own it.
What it does
- Operate your Marco digital refractor from a tablet or any web browser
- Web cameras provide audio and video interaction between doctor and patient
- Refract from across the room, the next room, or an off-site location
- No subscription fees for the Infinity PC Control Panel
- Compatible with the TRS-6100, TRS-5100, TS-610, EPIC-6100 and EPIC-5100
Is it right for your practice?
Best fit
Multi-doctor practices, satellite locations without full-time doctor coverage, and any practice that wants distance between doctor and patient during the refraction.
Why consider it
This is the piece that turns one doctor's time into coverage across more than one room, or more than one location. It drives a Marco automated refractor from a tablet or any web browser, with web cameras carrying audio and video between doctor and patient. Being a software line item instead of a device makes it one of the cheapest ways to add capacity to refraction equipment you already own. Marco states that the PC control panel carries no subscription, so it is a one-time purchase, not a recurring cost. Remote clinical use is subject to applicable licensure, supervision, privacy, security and state-law requirements.
What to compare
It only earns anything if you already have a compatible refractor - the TRS-6100, TRS-5100, TS-610, EPIC-6100 or EPIC-5100. If you do not, the comparison is not Infinity against something else, it is whether the refractor plus Infinity together solve a coverage problem that hiring or rescheduling would solve more cheaply. And if your constraint is that you have no room rather than no doctor, the TS-610 is the instrument to look at instead.
Ask me about
Whether the refractors you already own are on the compatible list, what the network and camera setup involves at your locations, and whether remote refraction fits how your state expects the exam to be conducted.
Specifications
Marco publishes feature detail but no specification table for Infinity, which is software, not an instrument. I would rather send you the full specification sheet than estimate the missing numbers, and confirm compatibility with what is already in your lane while I am at it.
